10/1/08 This is a still-alive-update. Programming for ten hours a day makes it really hard to come home and update a website, but I will force myself this weekend. FFADO is in beta right now and the devs have had some success getting the blessings of manufacturers such as Echo, Terratec, ESI and Focusrite. Well...maybe not blessings but hardware and bits of source code must taste like sweet mana to an open source developer! Due to the supposed stability of the FFADO beta I will bring together some resources on how to get it running on your machine and add the supported and reported-to-work devices to the master list.

Thanks to everyone who has contacted me about the site, whether you were saying "hello!", "thank you!", "help me!", "who do you think you are?", or "check this out!"; your interest is appreciated and I'm glad the site has been useful. Happy October!

5/14/08 Resources section is finally up. I have plenty to add and could probably find a better way to organize the info. I've also been adding new devices here and there as I come across them. The site now holds information on almost every officially supported pro audio interface, many controllers, and quite a few devices that are reported to work.

5/7/08 Added many more devices today! I have all but a couple of the FreeBoB supported devices listed now as well as many ALSA supported devices. I've been watching FFADO.org intently, unfortunately there have been no updates there for a long time. I promise that the next update will contain the resources section that I've mentioned below.

4/16/08 Sorry for the lack of updates and content over the past couple of weeks; I've been starting a new job that has demanded a lot of time and energy. The way this site is programmed relies on the zZounds data feed that I download every day. They have not had the majority of the devices listed here in the feed recently which is responsible for the lack of content. I had a backup of an old feed that I threw in here just for the info while I re-tool the site. I should have some time to release a significant update by the beginning of next week, so hang tight.

3/31/08 Big ol' update today, in fact I started on it last evening! I've suped up the interface a bit and added more device information into the new tab system. Hardware Specifications have been copied and pasted by hand into one of my php files because they aren't part of the feed I get from zZounds. I know you are probably more interested in the hardware specs than in the marketing spiel. Unfortunately, most of the specs for some of these devices are either extended spiels or just really stupid (obviously written by someone who has no idea what he is writing about). I'll be going through those in a future update and editing them down to more compact and useful data. The marketing writers for these companies should be ashamed.

I found a company that ships outside the US called Gigasonic.com. If you have had any dealings with them, let me know how the experience was. If they are a good company I will sign up with them so all of you visitors from outside the US can place an order online.

3/24/08 I just found out that zZounds only ships within the US, which is a big problem for half of the visitors to this site! I'm currently looking for an online, audio hardware store that ships internationally. Leave a comment if you have a site you use for orders outside the US.

3/22/08 Added COMMENTS! Now you can leave a comment and rate each product on compatibility and performance with Linux. Thanks to DigitalMidget.com for the script. There's still some cleaning up to be done with it--Internet Explorer gives comments a black background for some reason--but I thought I'd throw it up there so people can start feeding back. I'd like to thank everyone who has given me suggestions and kind words regarding the site; it's off to a very promising start.

3/19/08 Over the past two days I've gained access to the zZounds affiliate feed and updated the site with more info. The site is updated every day with the latest prices and Linux-compatible products. Now you can easily compare items right here and filter your choices as necessary.

3/17/08 Site launches! My initial scouring has produced a healthy list of interfaces and controllers in a variety of formats. When I'm granted access to the zZounds affiliate feed I'll be able to provide prices and other information so you can easily compare. For now each link brings you directly to the product page on zZounds.
